Watershed Description
Lower Delaware Bayshore watershed lies north of Lewes, Delaware and east of Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge. Estuarine water of Delaware Bay composes most of the watershed.
Watershed Area: 4,481 acres (1,959 hectares)
Location: Northeastern Sussex County, east of Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge.
Flow Direction: Generally east, mostly tidal.
Characteristics: Mostly estuarine water of Delaware Bay with a small amount of land.
Major Vegetation Communities/Land Covers
Delaware Bay composes most of the watershed. A very small amount is present as Beach, Beachgrass-Panicgrass Dune Grassland and riprap.
